The most important vote yet in this entire process is this MONDAY, NOVEMBER 23RD at 6 PM at Jessup Hose Co. # 1 (632 Fourth Ave, Jessup). Jessup Borough Council will vote on the critical Conditional Use Permit at this meeting.
With the support of Invenergy, the Jobs For Jessup coalition is hosting a very important MONDAY PRESS CONFERENCE at 5:00 PM SHARP, directly outside Jessup Hose Co. # 1, just prior to the start of the Council meeting. We desperately need the FULL participation of you and your members at both the press conference and Council meeting. We need you, the labor leaders, to speak. We’re also enlisting support from regional business leaders and elected officials past and present to speak in support of the project.
The message is simple: ENOUGH! Enough meetings. Enough studies. Enough talk. Vote to move this project forward – NOW! For nearly a year, this project has been debated and we’re still nowhere! Meanwhile, regional unemployment remains higher than most of the state and there are no other economic development projects in sight! We need this project and these jobs NOW! The feeling is that Council will be swayed by such a message and large show of support. We need to do this and we need you to accomplish it.
