The object of United Association Local 524 of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada is to organize workers employed within the pipe-trades. To protect our members from unjust and injurious competition. To encourage apprenticeship, and trade advancement, and to protect the jurisdiction of the United Association from infringement of other trades. To secure a mutual working agreement with fair contractors and offer health insurance and retirement benefits with an adequate and fair wage and safe working conditions. Train and educate our members in the state of art technology and skills, and to improve our trade in every way and method possible. “There is no substitute for a skilled UA craftsman”.
UA Local Union 524 represents a membership in excess of 800 members employed by Mechanical and Plumbing contractors throughout northeastern Pennsylvania.
